Jo George scoops romantic prize from Caviste

Peter Gentilli presents the lovely prize to lucky winner Jo

Peter Gentilli presents the lovely prize to lucky winner Jo

On a glum February day, with rain trickling down the pane and only a laptop for company, what a joy to know that one comment at the foot of Caviste’s latest blog could bag you not only a delicious bottle of pink Champagne, but also a beautiful blooming bouquet of roses! But that’s how it went for lucky lady Jo George, who was the recipient of the wine and flowers (courtesy of Ikebana) last week.

Jo told us: “The roses were lovely and I am looking forward to enjoying the champagne when my husband gets home from Alaska!” Indeed, with Jo’s husband working away on St Valentine’s Day, it’s nice to know that celebrations will merely be postponed until his return.
Jo concludes: ”Hugo Fox is always my first stop for local information and through them I am very pleased to have won the roses and champagne from my local village shops”.

Here’s Caviste’s very own Peter Gentilli, who popped around with the prize. He says: “It’s nice to hand deliver one of our favourite bottles of pink to Jo – and although he may be used to something chilled given his current location, I’m sure they’ll enjoy celebrating with it when he comes home.”

Well done, Jo! Remember, every published comment on HugoFox News has a chance of winning an M&S voucher courtesy of your friend the Fox!

Will you Be Mine?

To quote John Paul Young, ‘Love is in the air, everywhere I look around’. Yes, this one’s for all the lovers out there who are wondering how to mark Valentine’s Day (and with less than 24 hours to go). This year, instead of picking up a sad bunch of carnations from the petrol station as you fill up on the way home, why not let the HugoFox News team help you do it with a little more panache? Just remember ‘Be Mine’ and you’ll…be fine!

M is for… MUSIC

If you’re ready for full-on romance then you can’t do much better than the sophisticated elegance of a string quartet. The exquisite sounds of Stringsaloud are sure to help you whisk your partner off their feet in the most memorable and beautiful way.

I is for …INDULGE

It’s not often that you get to crack open a bottle of bubbly on a Tuesday, so why not make it something really worth enjoying. Caviste Wine Merchants have some superb Valentine’s Day offers on the finest champagnes, guaranteed to transport you both to the vineyards of France, if only for a few hours. It’s the perfect aphrodisiac.

N is for…NAILS

There’s nothing like a bit of pampering to make someone feel special. Twist Hair in Kingsclere offers massages, waxing, manicures and pedicures and even spray tans to make you feel wonderful and glowing, even if it is February.

And E is for…ENGAGEMENT!

Ladies…it only comes round once every four years so why not surprise the man in your life by going down on one knee and proposing more than that he does the dishes! You don’t have to go as far as buying your own ring, but this leap year why not pop the cork on the champagne bottle, take a sip of courage and then pop the question?
