It’s not so much ‘anyone for tennis?’ as ‘tennis for anyone!’ in Romsey, thanks to a new sponsorship deal from local listings website, HugoFox.com.

Romsey Tennis Club are proud to be linked with local listings site, HugoFox.com

The Romsey and Abbey Tennis Club has just signed a three year agreement with local listings company HugoFox.com. It’s a welcome boost for the club that provides coaching to the local community and schools in Romsey and the surrounding areas through outreach programmes.

The Romsey Tennis club has been based at the local sports centre since 1983 and in 2010, it was amalgamated with the Abbey Tennis Club, and Romsey and Abbey was born.

With a growing and very keen membership, every little bit of funding helps to keep the facilities in tip-top condition. Club Secretary Gill Pletcher’s welcoming the boost from HugoFox.com. She says:

“We’re especially pleased with the funding that’s coming from HugoFox.com. The three year agreement with them means that we can keep reassessing what needs our attention. We’re committed to developing tennis playing on a local level and HugoFox.com understands that.”

As a member of the Lawn Tennis Association, the club provides ample opportunity for league matches. There’s also a thriving social scene with regular mix-ins for members and non-members.

Chairman of HugoFox.com, Michael Thompson says:

“It’s terrific to play a part in such a thriving club as Romsey and Abbey. The team really appreciates the ethos of ‘sport for all’ and that’s something we definitely admire.”

HugoFox.com will also be supporting the Romsey and Abbey Junior Tennis programme that focuses on the tennis stars of the future. Ensuring the next generation of tennis players are up and coming is vital to the survival of the club and to seeing tennis played in Romsey for decades to come.
