Kingsclere

To quote John Paul Young, ‘Love is in the air, everywhere I look around’. Yes, this one’s for all the lovers out there who are wondering how to mark Valentine’s Day (and with less than 24 hours to go). This year, instead of picking up a sad bunch of carnations from the petrol station as you fill up on the way home, why not let the HugoFox News team help you do it with a little more panache? Just remember ‘Be Mine’ and you’ll…be fine!

I is for …INDULGE

And E is for…ENGAGEMENT!

Ladies…it only comes round once every four years so why not surprise the man in your life by going down on one knee and proposing more than that he does the dishes! You don’t have to go as far as buying your own ring, but this leap year why not pop the cork on the champagne bottle, take a sip of courage and then pop the question?

Kingsclere Youth have had a fantastic start to the 2011/ 2012 season, with mild weather allowing most fixtures to go ahead in good conditions.

Kingsclere Youth teams get the season off to a great start

Having recently signed a three year sponsorship deal with local listings site HugoFox.com, the Under 16s look forward to receiving their new ‘foxy’ strips and using their cunning to reach the top of their game.

Elsewhere in the Club, the newly formed U7 and U8 teams are enjoying training and partaking in friendly games on Sundays, and request that anyone who is keen to get involved next season should come along to training now on Saturday mornings at the Holding Field from 10.00 until 11.30am. This costs just £1.50 a session, and is a great way to get little ones out in the fresh air as well as joining a friendly local team.

Speaking of which, Kingsclere’s U12 boys team are scouting for new players. Can you help? Phone 297913 or 298664 if you fancy joining up.

Moving on up, the U15 boys have been busy training with their coaches, Dean and Tigger, and their resulting increased fitness is making all the difference at weekly matches. With training set to continue into the summer, the boys’ coaches would like to say how much the support of the players and their parents has been appreciated this season.

So it’s all off to a promising start for the local Kingsclere Youth Club! The teams are planning a quiz night near the end of April, so keep an eye on HugoFox news for more details, to follow soon.

Hot off the back of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany last summer, women’s football is getting a boost here in the South.

Kingsclere Ladies FC have just signed a three year sponsorship deal with local listings company HugoFox.com. It’s yet another sign of a promising future for women’s football.

Chairman of HugoFox.com, Michael Thompson says that it’s vital that the sport is bolstered right from grass roots level, giving players the determination to carry the game as far as they can. He added:

“Kingsclere Ladies’ Club is an example of the strength and determination that gets teams to a world class level. The drive to perform to the best of one’s ability, whether it’s a league game or in a packed stadium, is something that we can take from these smaller clubs. We are proud to be sponsoring the women’s team and wish them every success in the future.”

Kingsclere Ladies have established themselves in the Hampshire County Women’s Football League, playing at the Fieldgate centre and training hard every week. They have a strong squad but are always on the lookout for new members.

The sponsorship funding contributed by HugoFox.com will be put towards the home and away kits as well as general upkeep of their training facilities and the pitch.

Manager of Kingsclere Ladies, Ashley Davis, herself a qualified FA referee, says the sponsorship agreement has been a real morale boost for the ladies. She says:

“It’s brilliant to be able to accept some financial support from the local community. All our ladies are totally committed to the game and want to see the club thrive. If there’s talent there then we want to harness that. Having the backing of HugoFox has given us a great way of kickstarting the season.”
