Judge Jeff Blackett, who spoke at the Overton Rugby Club’s Sportsman’s Dinner recently, is organising the Help for Heroes Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere rugby match at Twickenham this coming Saturday (3rd December 2011).
It should be a fantastic day out, and as a sponsor of ORFC, Chairman of HugoFox.com Michael Thompson is keen to get the seats filled in support of such a worthwhile cause:
“Help for Heroes is such an important cause and this match is a great way of raising funds to help those injured in combat. There are some fantastic two for one deals available online, so please do get down there and show your support this Saturday!”
Some of rugby union’s greatest legends will scrum down at Twickenham Stadium for
the ‘Heroes Rugby Challenge’ supported by J.P. Morgan. It is a battle of the Hemispheres with a H4H Northern Hemisphere XV taking on a Southern Hemisphere XV.
The fixture marks the 10th Anniversary of Britain’s Armed Forces Operations in Afghanistan and promises to be even bigger than the
Help for Heroes match in 2008 when some 52,000 spectators raised a staggering £1.46m for Help for Heroes – the charity which provides practical support for our wounded service men and women.
The charity’s target is to pack Twickenham and raise significant funds for the H4H Tedworth House facility - a state of the art, ‘one-stop shop’ recovery centre for our wounded. H4H also intends to make payments to service charities in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
