Recently, HugoFox News announced its delight that HugoFox.com is sponsoring Kerri Martin, a talented young horserider who, astride her faithful steed Kandy Kane, competes in equestrian events throughout the country. Well, now there’s even more cause for excitement, for Kerri has gained a spot to compete in the British Horse Society Riding Club’s Team Jumping Championship.
Taking place at Hickstead on the final day of the Royal International Horse Show, the championship is a prestigious national event. From 8am on Sunday 22nd July, riding club teams from all over the country will be taking their mounts through the paces in the arena, competing for the top accolade in the Team Jumping Championship.
Kerri has been asked to replace a rider whose horse has sadly gone lame. Being asked to join the team is an amazing opportunity as well as a mark of Kerri’s considerable talent – but it is also a little daunting for the 20-year-old rider. The championship will be the biggest venue at which Kerri has competed thus far, and riding as part of a team brings its own pressures.
“There is always more pressure when you are part of a team as you don’t want to let your team members down!” Kerri’s mother Fran told HugoFox News: “But it will be a great experience, whatever happens.”
We couldn’t agree more! And we wish both Kerri and Kandy Kane the best of luck on the 22nd. Keep up to speed with the latest results from talented and passionate sporting individuals backed by our team at HugoFox News.
