The Otters U10s reign triumphant

If you’re a regular on HugoFox News, you’ll probably have just been reading about Rustington Otters’ U13s fantastic win, but clearly one champion team isn’t quite enough for the club…

After a slow start to the season, two losses in the first two games, Rustington Otters U10FC have turned their season around and been victorious in winning the U10’s Division A in the Arun and Chichester Youth Football League. Whoopee indeed!

Their overall record for the season after 21 league matches was 14 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses. The team managed to score 44 goals and concede only 26, the lowest number in their division this season.

Team Manager, Elliott Crook said:

“The boys have really developed as a team this year and haven’t had any easy games this season. Even when they were losing matches, they dug in deep and worked together to go on and win those games. Many of the boys have now been playing together since they were four and five years old, and their team spirit, commitment and attitude is something they should all be very proud of.”

To top off an already amazing season, last weekend the team also won the Challenge Cup Final against Worthing Rebels Youth on a soaking wet Sunday afternoon at Arundel Football Club. After a superb game that was played at a very fast pace the Otters won 3-2, scoring the winner with just three minutes to go of the game.

Next season the team will be going on to play 11-a-side football, which will be a huge learning curve for the players, and they will be proud to be wearing their new kit, which will be sponsored by none other than HugoFox.com, as part of our three-year sponsorship agreement with Rustington Otters Football Club.

We like to think we must be a bit of a lucky mascot…
