Basingstoke Volleyball Club enters a new deal with local listings company, HugoFox.com

With the build up to London 2012 in full swing, an Olympic sport has been given a boost in Basingstoke. Local listings company HugoFox.com is sponsoring the town’s volleyball club in a deal to last the next three years.

The Basingstoke Volleyball Club’s aim is to promote the sport in the surrounding area and HugoFox.Com is delighted to be sponsoring them and helping to raise the teams’ profile.

The deal is a welcome boost for the club which prides itself on channelling the talents of both novices and seasoned players. It’s an ethos that’s supported by HugoFox Chairman, Michael Thompson:

The BVC's players in action

Basingstoke Volleyball Club is a shining example of grass roots sports. Their energy and enthusiasm for the sport is unrivalled and it’s what prompted HugoFox.com to lend our support. We’re delighted to be backing such a dynamic group of people”.

The club was founded in the 1970s and their teams currently play in the Berkshire Volleyball League.  In 2009/2010 the BVC were the mixed league champions and it’s the mixed team that looks set to benefit from the new cash injection.  The money will also be spent on upgrading equipment as well as the day to day running costs.

Rob Hall, Chairman of the BVC, says:

“With the new season already underway and matches taking place every Sunday until April, it’s going to be a busy year. The club’s aim is to eventually have four teams competing within the Berkshire Volleyball Association. With the backing of HugoFox.com, it’s hoped they’ll continue to go from strength to strength.”
